==============================================================================================
Hounds Haven Basset Rescue is a small foster based only rescue specifically for Basset Hounds.  We offer any hound in our care the highest level of vetting, love, care and comittment.  Our main focus and prioirty in accepting hounds into our care will always be the strays or Bassets in the shelters.

Now we understand life can throw it's curveball's for owners and owners families, or the hound is experiencing behavioral or medical concerns he or she's family may not be able to handle.  And for those reason's we are happy to review each Owner Surrender form submission and honestly be able to say we can or cannot help.  But please know while we may have resources for many needs we will come across one that we cannot help.

Any Basset being excepted into our program from a surrendering owner/family will  need to have the following vetting done PRIOR to HHBR being able to accept the hound into our care. If the vetting cannot be accomplished prior to transfer we will request a donation to help offset the costs.  Our funds are very limited and what we do have is worked for by diligent fundraising.  Those funds are needed to care for the Basset's we pull from shelters that have no owner.

VETTING REQUIREMENTS:
  • Altered(Spayed/Neutered)
  • Rabies Vaccine
  • Distemper/Parvo Combo Vaccine
  • Heartworm tested negative within past year if prevention was offered
  • Heartworm tested within last 30 days if NO prevention was offered
  • Flea/Tick treatment within last 30 days.
  • Fecal (if postive a deworming product must be something we can see was given)

HHBR is a foster home based rescue organization so it is important to us to try and get to know the hounds a little bit so we can place them in the correct foster home to avoid moving them around too much if we are able to help them. We thank you in advance for answering all of the questions below.
